Choosing Kissimmee Gives Planners More Venues, More Attractions

     KISSIMMEE, FL (Summer 2009) – Meeting planners who choose Kissimmee have access to quality venues, accented by delightful spices of the unique and unexpected.  The value season lasts year-round but especially in May and early September through January, excluding holiday periods.  Meeting space is available at dozens of Kissimmee hotels and venues offering a wide range of sizes, rates and styles to suit any style, budget and need.

SAMPLE MEETING PROPERTIES

  • Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center: This premier Kissimmee property has 1,406 rooms, 400,000 square feet of meeting/ exhibition space, four acres of gardens under glass, and a 20,000-square-foot Canyon Ranch Spa – the largest in Central Florida. The resort, which has a comprehensive Green initiative that makes planning eco-friendly meetings easy, also recently unveiled the Total Meeting Pricing program that bundles services into one upfront price.
  • Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate: This sophisticated hotel has 730 rooms, 70,000 square feet of meeting/ exhibition space, two Greg Norman-designed championship golf courses, the David Leadbetter Golf Academy and a spa. The Villas at ChampionsGate feature 59 one- and two-bedroom units in a four-diamond condo hotel. Designed to match the high standards of its sister property, the Omni Resort, the Villas offer the amenities of a fine hotel with the comforts of home.
  • Osceola Heritage Park: The 11,000-seat capacity Silver Spurs Arena hosts a wide variety of events including concerts, family shows and sporting events. Other facilities at Osceola Heritage Park include the Exhibition Building, offering 60,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
  • Holiday Inn Main Gate East: The world’s largest Travelodge has undergone a $10 million renovation project as the Holiday Inn Main Gate East. Among the features at the 444-sleeping-room property are a redesigned pool and spa area, a new business center housing five workstations, laptop area, high-speed Internet access and print, fax and copy capabilities. The colorful new lobby with Italian tile and a fountain compliment the new décor and arrangement of the 3,571-sq.-ft. flexible meeting space and its beautifully appointed sleeping rooms and suites.
  • Mona Lisa Suite Hotel: This $70 million, all-suite hotel offers 240 upscale, one- and two-bedroom suites. Its Galerie Restaurant boasts a beautiful wine cellar and seats 150 guests in a bi-level environment with outdoor terrace areas. This hotel offers a luxury boardroom for small gatherings and is ideal for overflow for meetings booked in some of Kissimmee’s other upscale properties.
  • Ginn Reunion Resort: This beautiful resort living property offers three signature golf courses, ultra-modern conference facilities and luxury amenities amid 4,700 square feet of function space. The Reunion Grande Hotel features 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including an 8,750 square foot high-tech ballroom/conference center. It also offers unique meeting venues.
  • Ramada Orlando Celebration Resort: This 919-room resort with 28 suites has 60,000 square feet of meeting space, including the 20,000-square-foot Florida Exhibit Hall, and offers a contemporary tropical look and feeling throughout. It also boasts four pools, flexible breakout rooms and a Latin-flavored dance club and a comedy club.


ENTERTAINMENT OPTIONS
    Central Florida’s off-site venues are second to none.  Kissimmee is located in close proximity to the following major attractions: WALT DISNEY WORLD Resort, Sea World Orlando, Universal Orlando and Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.  Other local attractions include the Kissimmee Air Museum, affiliated with Warbird Adventures, Zipline Safari at Forever Florida and Old Town Shopping, Dining & Entertainment Attraction.

     Kissimmee offers more than 100 restaurants from familiar chains to themed eateries and elegant dining establishments, including eateries in the town of Celebration for a convenient dine-around night. GOLF
     Golfers looking for a leisurely round of golf will appreciate Kissimmee’s many golf course options. Names such as Tom Watson, Arnold Palmer, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, Gary Koch, Johnny Miller and others have stamped their championship legacy on several courses in the area. Among the notable independent and public courses are: Mystic Dunes, Falcon’s Fire, Harmony Golf Club, and Celebration Golf Club.

NATURE & HERITAGE EXCURSIONS
    Many attractions in the area showcase the adventure and excitement that come with discovering the natural side of Central Florida. At Boggy Creek Airboat Rides, visitors love the thrill of skimming over the water’s surface aboard an airboat as they witness some of Central Florida’s most beautiful natural scenery. Attendees also may enjoy a glimpse of what life was like in Central Florida before the theme parks arrived at the Osceola County Historical Museum & Pioneer Center.  Other favored choices for a day under the sun and for a group meeting are Forever Florida, which now offers the state’s first zipline attraction, and Gatorland.
