Heritage Trail

Heritage Trail

Yesterday comes alive at the Spence Lanier Pioneer Center and Osceola County Historical Society. You and your family can experience what it was like to live in an authentic 1898 “Cracker House,” shop for your provisions in a 1900 general store and work in a blacksmith shop and sugar cane mill.

Displays of Osceola County’s heritage are distributed throughout the downtown areas of Kissimmee and St. Cloud. You can best experience this rich history through Osceola County’s Historic Driving Tour where you’ll be awed by monuments to our veterans such as the Bataan-Corregidor Memorial, Veteran’s Memorial Library and St. Cloud Heritage Museum and Mount Peace Cemetery, the final resting place for more than 300 Union veterans. Don’t miss a Kissimmee favorite, the 40-foot high Monument of States, built from stones furnished by tourists, governors, a prime minister and a U.S. President. The monument contains 1,500 stones collected over 22 years, including meteors, stalagmites, petrified wood and bones, representing every state in the U.S. and 20 foreign countries.
