After Dark
When the sun sets in Kissimmee, the fun doesn’t stop. There are nearly as many choices for night-time fun as there are while the sun’s up. A great family stop is Old Town, a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex that’s fun for all. Friday and Saturday nights feature their signature car cruises. The Saturday Nite Cruise®, an 18-year tradition, regularly showcases more than 300 classic cars, and the Friday Nite Cruise features vehicles from 1975-1987, plus new customs and exotics. There’s also live entertainment each night, so pack your dancin’ shoes and limber up your jitterbug. The kids will if you don’t. They love the street-party fun. If motorcycles are your thing, stop by on Thursdays for Bike Nite.
After the car cruise, stop by the Blue Max Tavern and step up to the microphone on the karaoke stage; or continue to dance the night away at the Sun on the Beach bar. Of course, you can begin your evening at Old Town much earlier, enjoying dinner at one of eight restaurants and browse the 75 unique specialty shops.
If you’re looking for other places to practice your dancing-with-the-stars steps, head to Disney’s Boardwalk or Universal’s CityWalk®, a mecca of big-city fun, sophistication, and entertainment.
If you’re a Parrothead, bring your family, your friends, or your sweetheart to Citywalk®, where it doesn’t get any better than Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville. You can mellow out to a tasty meal and a signature drink at one of three bars themed around his songs. For a rollicking good time, get into the multimedia theatrics and madcap percussion in a live performance of the famous Blue Man Group, or show off your pipes at CityWalk’s Rising Star karaoke club. Another selection for spectacular entertainment is the spellbinding performance of Cirque de Soleil® La Nouba™ at Downtown Disney.
Kissimmee is the heart of Florida, but if you look a little closer, you’ll find its entertaining soul.
