Atlantic Coast Beaches
Florida's "Space Coast" launched America into space and to the moon. Fortunately though, you won’t have to travel that far to get to the area’s best beaches. Just a day trip away from Kissimmee, you and your family can take a memorable beach vacation while still enjoying all of the great activities and attractions found in the Orlando area.
Head east toward the Atlantic Ocean and you’ll come to the area’s nearest beach, Cocoa Beach – close to an hour away. From here, its an easy trip south to both Melbourne Beach and Satellite Beach, where you can spend the day surfing, shelling or just simply relaxing.
Looking for a more secluded beach? The 24-mile long beach at Canaveral National Seashore is the longest undeveloped stretch of white sand along the state’s eastern shoreline. Or head north to the quiet and scenic Flagler Beach near Bulow Creek State Park.
Of course if it’s a little more activity and excitement you’re looking for, you can always drive on the beach in world-famous Daytona, home to the Daytona 500.
