Soccer
Soccer has grown in popularity in the United States during the past 30 years, especially since the 1990s. This has been attributed to the fact that the 1994 FIFA World Cup was played in the United States for the first time ever. With that event, world-class soccer came to Kissimmee as Austin-Tindall Regional Park was used as a practice facility for the 1994 Moroccan World Cup Team. It was also used as a practice field by the Japanese Olympic Team in 1996. Austin-Tindall is recognized as world-class sports complex. Youth soccer in the U.S., for both boys and girls, has experienced phenomenal growth, with thousands of clubs and leagues across the country. Many soccer tournaments for all ages and at all levels are played at Austin-Tindall Regional Park.
For those attending or participating in tournaments or events at Austin-Tindall Regional Park there are lodging choices to fit every budget. For some fun off the field, all of the amazing recreational opportunities the Orlando area has to offer are nearby, including Walt Disney World® Resort, Universal Orlando® Resort, and SeaWorld® Orlando.
